Overview
Bridgend CBC is recruiting for a Residential Support Worker to support children and young people at Meadows View. The service offers care and support for young people aged 6 to 17 in two units: an assessment provision and an emergency provision. Meadows View provides a therapeutic, trauma-informed environment and aims to reduce challenging behaviours and promote positive behavioural change.
The role is 30 hours per week, with requirements to work sleeping in, weekends, and standby duties as part of the post.
Responsibilities
* Work in a person-centred way to meet the needs of children and young people, and work well within a team.
* Support the delivery of care and therapeutic interventions coordinated by the onsite Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst, including bespoke Positive Behavioural Support Plans.
* Be willing to complete the All Wales Induction Framework as part of induction, followed by the Level 2 and 3 QCF in children and young people, and register with Social Care Wales upon completion of induction.
* Be prepared to work across other residential services when required and commit to ongoing professional development in line with regulatory requirements.
* Help maintain compliance with Regulatory Requirements and support children and young people to achieve the best outcomes.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Completion of All Wales Induction Framework during induction, followed by Level 2 and 3 QCF in children and young people (as listed in the Qualification framework for the Social Care Sector in Wales).
* Registration with Social Care Wales after induction.
* Willingness to work across other residential services as required.
* Commitment to learning, improving and developing practice in line with regulatory requirements.
* Ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
* Enanced DBS (DBS check) for both Children and Adults is a requirement.
* Sleeping In, Weekend Working and Standby Duties are a requirement of this post.
