MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The Gaelic Linguist performs quality control tasks, and on-demand translation tasks on assigned accounts/projects; ensures that the work is performed at a satisfactorily high standard within the specified deadlines and quality level; ensures that the Language Process is being followed by the project team.
MAIN DUTIES

2. Performing copy-edit tasks on assigned projects or accounts on Gaelic
3. Performing on-demand translation tasks
4. Performing linguistic adaptation tasks into enGB
5. Performing lead support on assigned projects or accounts
6. Managing and maintaining the language materials (including glossaries, Style Guides, work instruction) up to the quality standards and up to date as required by the account or project
7. Managing project-related queries
8. Ensuring good interaction among team members and resolving questions on terminology and language matters
9. Testing and qualifying new freelancers and vendors as required
10. Developing and training of internal linguists/new and existing freelancers according to the accounts’ and Welocalize’s needs
11. Interacting with clients on linguistic matters as required
12. Participating in the development of new and improved working processes
13. Achieving the goals set by the Squad Lead
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS
14. Education Level
15. University degree in Translation/Applied Languages or equivalent combination of education and experience
16. 3+ years of experience in translation/localization
17. Experience
18. Native fluency in Gaelic and English
19. Thorough understanding of the localization process.
20. Good user experience of standard software, such as Windows and Office applications.
21. Good user experience of standard CAT tools, XTM, SDL Studio, and issue tracking and query management tools, JIRA
22. Ability to learn new localization tools and applications quickly.
23. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
24. Excellent knowledge of terminology used in two or more subject matters.
25. Ability to work with tight deadlines.
26. Ability to give clear, concise and constructive feedback.
27. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, linguists
28. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
29. Ability and willingness to train/teach others and pass on knowledge.
30. Ability, willingness and experience in communicating positively with customers at various levels
