Position Overview: The Assistant Manager oversees daily operations and staff in the manager's absence. Responsibilities include inventory management, banking, paperwork, personnel management, and store tasks as assigned by the store manager. The role requires on-call availability and a working phone.
Key Responsibilities:
* General Management: Manage staff, customer service, store inspections, and compliance with regulations.
* Bookkeeping: Handle shift reports, cash management, and financial transactions.
* Security and Safety: Control inventory, safeguard assets, and ensure safety policies are followed.
* Merchandising: Stock and maintain store displays and equipment.
* Maintenance: Keep the store clean and operational, perform regular equipment checks, and handle weather-related tasks.
Candidate Profile:
* Friendly, respectful, honest, flexible, and eager to learn.
* Effective communicator, dependable, and able to multitask.
Requirements:
* Basic arithmetic and English skills (8th-grade level).
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work around fumes and cleaning products.
* Certifications: Serve Safe, Allergen Awareness, Class C Operator, UST Vapor Recovery.
* Valid driver’s license and insurance; willingness to work 50 hours/week.
