Join Our Team
We're looking for a driven Business Development Manager to join our Special Projects division and play a key role in growing Hopkins' presence across government frameworks and end-user clients.
This role is about selling Hopkins' capabilities and expertise — not just individual projects. You'll be building relationships with architects, procurement professionals, and public-sector clients, positioning Hopkins as a trusted partner of choice.
About Us
At Hopkins, we are more than an M&E contractor — we are a trusted partner delivering complex projects across education, healthcare, residential, and commercial sectors. With over 45 years of experience, our business has built a reputation for technical excellence, sustainable solutions, and strong client relationships.
Our Special Projects division plays a key role in driving innovation and expanding our reach across government frameworks and end-user clients. This new Business Development Manager position will help us showcase the full breadth of our capabilities — ensuring that clients, architects, and procurement professionals see Hopkins as their partner of choice for reliable, forward-thinking solutions.
The Role
The Special Projects Business Development Manager will be responsible for positioning Hopkins as a trusted delivery partner within government frameworks, end-user clients, architects, and procurement professionals. Rather than focusing on individual projects, this role centres on selling the full breadth of our business capabilities and technical expertise in mechanical and electrical construction. The postholder will develop strategic relationships, identify opportunities across frameworks and direct clients, and lead the business development approach for long-term growth within the public and end-user sectors.
What You'll Be Doing
* Identify and secure opportunities through government frameworks and direct clients
* Build strong networks with end users, architects, and procurement team
* Lead and support bids, proposals, and framework submissions
* Work closely with internal teams to develop compelling technical sales offers
* Represent Hopkins at industry and networking events
What we're looking for:
* Proven experience in technical sales / business development within construction, M&E, or related industries
* Strong track record of winning work via frameworks and public-sector procurement
* Excellent relationship-building, influencing, and presentation skills
* Commercially astute, strategic, and self-driven
Our commitment to you
As a key member of our team you will be encouraged to develop yourself further using all the tools made available to you by the business. As our inhouse HR team will work alongside you and your line manager to develop a bespoke develop plan that is tailored to your needs.
