What we're looking for
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, proactive team? We are pleased to be recruiting for a Looked-After Support Officer to join the Safeguarding Team. We are looking for someone who is self- motivated and can use their initiative to drive this position forward.
You will be organised and ready for a challenge in this role. You will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, apply professionalism and sensitivity when dealing with confidential information. You will be able to work closely with learners who are Looked-After or Care Experienced and provide appropriate advice, guidance and mentoring.
Primary duties include:
* Managing a case load of Looked After or Care Experienced Learners
* Attend multi-agency meetings such as PEPs and LAC reviews
* Liaising with relevant schools, social workers and other agencies to manage transition Looked Afters Learners
* Attend meetings with local authorities to share information appropriately
* Identify looked after learners at risk of not achieving and implement effective support plans
* Provide mentoring and progression support for Looked After Learners to support them to achieve their goals
* Refer and signpost learners for additional support internally and externally
* Travel across different campuses to meet 1:1 with learners who may require support or advocacy

The Safeguarding Team is part of the wider student Inclusion and Support team. We have a range of safeguarding officers and administrators and take an active role in the delivery of wellbeing and enrichment opportunities across the college.
