Job Title: Legal Cashier / Accounts Administrator Location: Bolton, Greater Manchester Salary: up to 26,000 Contract: Full-Time (Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm) About the Role We are looking to recruit a dependable and detail-oriented Legal Cashier / Accounts Administrator to join our busy and well-established solicitor firm. This role forms a key part of the office accounts function and involves working closely with fee earners, support staff, senior management, and external third parties to ensure the smooth running of financial operations. Previous experience in a legal accounts or cashiering role is advantageous; however, we are also keen to hear from candidates with strong finance or accounts experience who can demonstrate excellent attention to detail, a proactive approach, and a willingness to learn legal accounting procedures and compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities Support the day-to-day operations of the office accounts team Post and reconcile disbursements, including supplier and third-party invoices Post and allocate incoming payments and credits Assist with file billing and respond to billing-related queries Support fee earners and staff to ensure compliance with internal procedures and Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR) Handle internal and external accounts and finance queries Liaise with third parties to reconcile outstanding disbursements Provide support with HR, finance, administration, and compliance matters as required Escalate any client, procedural, or compliance issues to management promptly Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by your manager Essential Requirements Previous experience in accounts, finance, or administration Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy Excellent organisational and time-management skills Confident communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders Comfortable working in a full-time, office-based role Desirable Experience Experience using Proclaim Previous experience in a legal accounts or cashiering role Knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR) Experience with legal billing and disbursements Understanding of compliance within a professional services environment What We Offer Competitive salary, dependent on experience A stable, office-based role within a professional legal environment Supportive team with training provided where required Opportunity to develop experience in legal accounts and compliance Company pension scheme On-site parking
