This role is based at our Canterbury Skin and Laser Clinic. You'll join a well-established, experienced team dedicated to delivering the latest treatments and services.
How you'll help us make health happen
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will support treatments, assist with clinical procedures, and provide aftercare instructions to patients. Your responsibilities include setting up sterile fields, managing stock and equipment, and ensuring the clinical area is prepared for procedures. You will also play a key role in infection prevention and control, maintaining patient confidentiality, and adhering to health and safety guidelines.
In addition, you will create a supportive and caring environment for patients, ensuring their journey is seamless and of the highest standard. This includes meeting and greeting patients, assisting during consultations, and promoting high standards of clinical care.
Duties:
1. Supporting our consultant dermatologists with consultations and surgical assistance in theatre (mole/lesion excisions, biopsies, and shaves)
2. Venesection
3. Wound checks, dressing changes, and stitch removal post-surgery
4. Maintaining infection control standards in line with CQC
5. Daily clinic checks
6. Maintaining stock
7. Promoting high standards of clinical care to our patients
8. Ensuring clinical audits, policies, procedures, and medical governance standards
Qualifications and Experience:
* Care Certificate or higher
* Venepuncture/Phlebotomy experience (essential)
* Background/Interest in Dermatology (desirable)
* A passion for patient care and delivering high-quality service
* Good understanding of CQC policies relating to a clinical environment
* Good communication skills and a team player
