MAIN TASKS OF THE JOB:
Project Leadership & Management
* Oversee all earthworks projects from estimation through to completion.
* Manage site teams to ensure smooth execution of project plans.
* Collaborate closely with clients, stakeholders, and other departments to ensure project success.
* Monitor project programs and ensure deadlines are met.
Estimating & Commercial Control
* Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for earthworks projects.
* Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to identify project requirements.
* Monitor and control project budgets and commercial performance.
* Build and maintain existing and new client relationships to support work-winning efforts.
* Review plans, soil reports, bid schedules, specifications for information necessary to understand scope of work.
* Manage pre-construction activities with a high degree of acumen.
* Identify opportunities to add value throughout the project process.
Health & Safety
* Develop and implement site-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
* Ensure all work is conducted in full compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Promote a strong safety culture across all teams and projects.
Operational Oversight
* Support and manage plant allocation and ensure appropriate use of machinery on site.
* Manage and supervise on-site staff, ensuring productivity and morale are maintained.
* Provide hands-on assistance on site when necessary to resolve issues and lead by example.
Programme Monitoring & Reporting
* Track project progress against key milestones.
* Report on programme deviations, risks, and opportunities.
* Continuously improving operational processes for better performance and output.
Requirements
* Proven experience in Management of Earthworks, Estimating and Civil Engineering projects (5+ years at a senior level preferred).
* Strong background in estimating, project management, and site operations.
* In-depth knowledge of RAMS, CDM regulations, and general construction HSE practices.
* Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
* Full UK Driving Licence (required)
* CSCS card and SMSTS certification (preferred)
* Proficiency in using project management software and tools
