Duties and Responsibilities
* Prepare the design and complete load calculations, schematics, equipment selection and system concept report.
* Prepare the contract documents including the specifications.
* Evaluate shop drawing reviews.
* Manage projects from design through construction.
* Ensure ASHRAE and LEED compliance where applicable.
* Direct, review, and approve project design changes.
* Engage in meetings with clients, contractors, and other consultants regarding project reports and findings.
* Provide expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Post‑secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant discipline required.
* Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is an asset.
* Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng) required.6+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings.
* Strong background knowledge in Building Design with an emphasis on mechanical systems (HVAC/Plumbing/Fire Protection).
* Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as the Canadian National Building Code (NBC), Ontario Building Code (OBC), etc.
* Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Familiarity with the LEED accreditation process is an asset.
