Job Overview:
The Senior Manager, Procurement of Medical, WASH and NFI Commodities is responsible for the global procurement of medical commodities including pharmaceuticals, medical consumables, medical equipment, laboratory items, nutrition commodities, as well as WASH and NFI commodities. The role includes strategic sourcing, negotiation, vendor management, and emergency stock management. The position involves establishing external partnerships, developing initiatives within medical and WASH/NFI categories, and troubleshooting for country programs and emergency responses.
Major Responsibilities:
* Procurement: Collaborate with internal teams to develop procurement strategies, conduct market research, manage sourcing processes, ensure compliance, and maintain vendor relationships. Analyze spend data and forecast demand to optimize procurement strategies. Support emergency procurement activities.
* Capacity Building & Expertise: Support country procurement teams, serve as a subject matter expert, represent IRC externally, and provide training and capacity building.
* Emergency Stock: Strategically source supplies for emergency pre-positioned stocks and support stock strategy development.
Working Relationships:
* Reports to: Senior Director, Global Supply Chain Procurement
* External contacts include vendors, NGOs, inter-agency groups.
Job Requirements:
* Undergraduate degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
* Minimum 6 years experience in public procurement, with at least 2 in health/medical commodities.
* Knowledge of donor regulations and procurement standards.
* Proficiency in MS Office; language skills are a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Knowledge of pharmaceutical logistics, quality assurance, and supply chain trends.
* Strong planning, analytical, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Professional certification, experience with business systems, data visualization tools, and quality systems knowledge.
