Salary: Band 5, £28,689 - £29,859 (Please note it is Northumbria Police policy to appoint at the beginning of the band)

Hours/Contract: Permanent 37 Hours a week over a two‑week shift pattern,
Shift start and finish times: Mon-Fri 0830-1900 / Sat-Sun 0830-1700. (Please note working rota includes weekend and bank holiday working).

Are you skilled in advanced video and photograph editing techniques? We are seeking a dedicated professional to prepare computerised identification parades, contributing to crime investigations. In this role, you will produce both standard and non‑standard parades, develop new techniques and versions in line with PACE and relevant case law, ensuring professional legal standards are maintained.
What you’ll do
* Prepare computerised identification parades using video and photograph in accordance with guidance and relevant case law.
* Attend court as a witness and represent Northumbria Police in court proceedings.
* Prepare computerised witness albums using video and photograph in accordance with guidance and relevant case law.
* Receive and respond to enquiries in relation to the creation of identification parades providing advice on identification processes.
* Maintain accurate records and performance data in relation to the identification process and officer participation for accreditation.
* Support the introduction and development of software/equipment to capture images or develop identification packages. Provide advice, testing and professional opinion.
What you’ll bring
* Experience of working in a team across specific functions; A Levels or equivalent qualification or relevant experience.
* Experience of working in a complex environment achieving deadlines and performance targets. Experience in managing competing priorities and working to tight deadlines.
* Ability to work to a set framework and deliver products that meet a standard depending on set criteria; ability to work unsupervised.
* Ability to achieve performance targets across a range of environments with competing priorities. Ability to review material and identify deficiencies accurately and within a timescale.
* Experience of working within a team to meet deadlines and manage a challenging workload. Evidence of supporting colleagues and ability to provide advice/guidance to a variety of staff.
Please note this role includes shift work and the successful candidate will be expected to work weekends and bank holidays.

Terms of appointment
