People Security Adviser
Location: London (Hybrid)
Contract Length: 12 months
Day Rate: £528 (Inside IR35)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced People Security Adviser to join a dynamic team within the National Security and Government sector.
This is a pivotal role offering the opportunity to strengthen the security posture of critical national infrastructure, ensuring the protection of personnel and physical assets across a range of environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support personnel and physical security initiatives
* Conduct security risk assessments, investigations, and incident response planning
* Develop and maintain security policies, controls, and standards
* Ensure alignment with UK Government vetting and security requirements
* Produce high-quality reports and documentation using MS Office tools
* Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance overall security operations and resilience
Essential Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in personnel and physical security management, ideally within UK Government or national infrastructure environments
* Strong background in risk assessment, incident response, and security investigations
* Excellent communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Solid understanding of government security standards, integrated security frameworks, and risk management methodologies
Desirable Skills
* Formal security qualifications or membership of professional security bodies
* Experience in change management and delivering security improvement programmes
* Ability to coordinate security forums and working groups
* Knowledge of cyber security, threat intelligence, and identity and access management (IAM)
* Relevant security certifications or postgraduate qualification preferred
Additional Requirements
* Active UK Security Clearance (SC) is essential
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
* Willingness to travel occasionally across London sites
