There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our Head Office located in Newcastle upon Tyne is looking to recruit a Senior Reporting Manager to join the Group Finance team.

The Role

The role of Group Senior Reporting Manager will work within the Group Finance Team and report to the Group Financial Controller.

Principal accountabilities of the Group Senior Reporting Manager role include:

1. Group consolidation – Preparing the Group trading updates and financial statements including reviewing all sections of the annual report.
2. Statutory reporting – Preparing and reviewing subsidiary and joint venture statutory accounts to meet external regulatory requirements.
3. Technical accounting leadership – Providing expert guidance, interpretation and calculations on complex accounting issues, and maintained the Group’s accounting manual.
4. Audit management – Acting as one of the main points of contact for the external auditors, managing the year-end audit process, and ensuring timely delivery of audited accounts.
5. Stakeholder management – Analyse financial results, variances, and trends, providing insightful commentary for senior leadership, Audit Committee and board presentations.
6. Financial controls and governance – Developing and enforcing robust internal financial controls and governance frameworks across all group entities.
7. Budgets and forecasts – Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes from a Group perspective.
8. Internal communications – Presenting at the monthly divisional Finance Director meetings, providing Group updates and rolling out new processes.
9. Group projects – Participating in Group system and process improvement projects.
10. Ad hoc reporting – Producing or reviewing other ad-hoc financial and non-financial reporting for internal or external purposes.

The above list of accountabilities are not exclusive or exhaustive. The post holder will be required to undertake any such duties as may be reasonably expected.

Experience, Qualifications and Skills

Experience

11. Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and FRS101 and experience with multi-entity group structures (in practice or industry).

Qualifications and Training

12. Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience in group reporting or financial consolidation.

13. Good interpersonal skills
14. Proactive approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
15. Experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.
16. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain relationships across the organisation.
17. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
18. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
19. Ability to work on own as well as part of a team
20. Works effectively to deadlines and competently works on multiple tasks simultaneously
21. Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
