We are looking to hire a Legal Secretary to join our successful Family Law team, based in Edinburgh.

The Role
We are looking to further strengthen our current team with the appointment of an experienced Legal Secretary who will provide secretarial assistance within our Family Law department. The role will involve working alongside solicitors using word and other technical skills in order to meet the needs of both internal and external clients, whilst demonstrating our core values.
As a Legal Secretary at Gilson Gray LLP you'll be responsible for:
* Typing for all fee earners in the team in a fast-paced environment. This will include accurately transcribing audio dictation and copy type from draft documents;
* Producing documentation in a professional and accurate manner;
* Assisting Partners with management and business development tasks;
* Implement and maintain a comprehensive filing and record system, ensuring files are maintained in an orderly way;
* Diary management and meeting organisation;
* Setting up new appointments;
* Dealing with incoming calls from clients and taking messages for fee earners;
* Preparing documents for court hearings;
* Preparing instructions to counsel and making up counsel's papers;
* Drafting fees and assisting with credit control follow-up;
* General photocopying and other secretarial duties.
Required Knowledge and Experience
* Experienced in secretarial work with a full range of secretarial skills, including full working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and other relevant applications;
* Excellent typing skills are essential;
* Previous experience of using a case management system.
