ABOUT US
At Severn Trent, we’re proud to have our entire finance function housed at our head office in Coventry, bringing together over Finance professionals. Our teams span across Group FP&A, Business Performance & Insight, Internal Audit, Business Partnering, Group Finance, Tax, Investor Relations, Treasury, Insurance, Transformation, and Enterprise Risk Management- all working collaboratively under one roof.
While we’re looking for strong technical expertise, if you have the right attitude and capabilities, we also place a big emphasis on continuous learning, development, and career growth- so there’s always room to expand your skills and progress within the function
Typical responsibilities include:
1. Shaping and driving financial strategy aligned with business goals
2. Supporting long-term planning, forecasting, and investment decisions
3. Advising senior leadership on financial implications of strategic initiatives
4. Managing and mentoring finance teams
5. Building capability across financial disciplines
6. Driving continuous improvement and innovation in finance processes
7. Act as a trusted advisor to the Senior Leadership team, to contribute towards business strategy and help improve financial performance

Our finance team is based at Severn Trent Centre in Coventry. Typical working weeks are hours a week.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for senior finance professionals who combine deep technical knowledge with a strategic mindset and the ability to lead with impact. You’ll be someone who can navigate complexity, influence decision-making, and drive meaningful change across the organisation.
Key capabilities we’re looking for include:
8. Fully Qualified Accountant ( ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
9. Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally within a complex or regulated environment
10. Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate financial insight into strategic action
11. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
12. A collaborative mindset and the ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
13. A continuous improvement mindset, with a passion for driving innovation and transformation
