3-4 month contract position with a local authority
Summary
* This is a 3-4 month contract position with a local authority, focused on supporting the development, management, and successful execution of critical analysis and project management within the Council's Community Partnerships Transformation Programme. The role is crucial for defining projects in alignment with customer needs and strategic goals, delivering key policy and business analysis, managing decision-making processes, and tracking progress to demonstrate achievement against project objectives. This is not an IT Analyst role.
Responsibilities
* Execute projects related to Double Devolution to Town and Parish Councils and financial support to Dorset's Voluntary and Community Sector.
* Lead the development of options papers and business cases for large and high-risk projects.
* Assess options and establish project design as projects move from development to delivery.
* Represent the Council and/or the Council's Transformation Office at events with key stakeholders, including Community Partners.
* Stay updated on current relevant policy, practice, and legislation, and analyse place-based models of delivery and devolution.
* Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners.
* Perform technical activities in planning, programming, and production of projects or services, meeting agreed priorities under challenging deadlines.
Experience
* Experience in local government and working knowledge of Community Partnerships.
* Previous experience as a Business Analyst and some knowledge of Project Management.
* Ability to analyse potential governance arrangements for town and parish councils and potential services to devolve.
Qualifications
* Understanding of best practices in managing project delivery, including formal frameworks and methodologies such as PRINCE2, MSP, and Agile PM.
Additional Information
* Working hours: 37 hours a week
* Hybrid work model: Preferably 2 days a week on-site at Dorset Council, Dorchester.
* Employment is subject to satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and suitable references.
