Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Complex Care/ Medical Stepdown
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a permanent position as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist at Dewsbury District Hospital to join our inpatient team. As a team, we strive to provide a positive experience and person centred approach at each and every patient contact. As well as having a flexible and supportive team ethos, we aspire to deliver a high standard of team development and training; aiming to embed new methods this into our forward thinking discharge plans. We have strong links with other therapy teams and MDT roles. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Physiotherapist to join our service.
The post plays a key role in reviewing inpatient therapy pathways, auditing and developing other team members to deliver a high-quality therapy service and to ensure best evidence based practice and outcomes.
We need the individual to be a team player with excellent communication, organisational, teaching and leadership skills who is committed to facilitating positive change management, developing themselves and the team. We are a 7 day service and the successful post holder would be expected to be able to cover the service needs of this.
Main duties of the job
The main purpose and duties of the role is to work with the therapy service lead, team leader and other clinical specialists for the respective services to ensure the delivery of a high quality, patient centred and outcome focused therapy service within the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. The clinical specialist will be a role model for the team sharing and developing good practice, providing clinical expertise to the team in Physiotherapy, participating in service developments on the Dewsbury site.
* Take a lead role in the advanced assessment and treatment of complex fractured neck of femur, care of elderly, medical step down.
* Act as a source of expertise on the management of the patients and provide an advisory service to patients, physiotherapists and other health personnel.
* Undertake the supervision and assist with the organisational management of the more Junior Staff, assistants and students allocated to the service.
* Contribute and assist with organising the Department's In-Service training programme in collaboration with other senior staff.
* In conjunction with the Therapy Service Lead In-patients, other clinical lead Therapists and management teams strive to ensure excellence of training across the whole organisation.

Job responsibilities
Qualifications:
* Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
* Registered with the Health Care Professions Council
* Have or be working towards Masters degree
* Leadership/ management course
Training:
* Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio including attendance at recent and relevant postgraduate courses
* Portfolio evidence of information learning
* IT Skills including use of NHS systems e.g ICE/Systm1/CITO/Microsoft Office
Experience:
* Evidence of comprehensive clinical band 6/7 experience.
* Experience with evidence of rotations in acute medical conditions
* Supervision of staff groups, inclusive of diverse skill mix
* Experience of integrated working
