Job Introduction
We are looking for Care Assistants to join our team at Avon View.
Avon View is a residential home on the outskirts of Christchurch offering accommodation for clients over 3 floors providing nursing, palliative, residential and dementia care. We work in a person-centred way providing support for people living with complex care needs.
As a Care Assistant, your main responsibilities will include:
* Supporting clients with personal care, nutrition and hydration.
* Complying with Health and Safety requirements in respect of moving and assisting and the use of equipment.
* Maintaining dignity, privacy and respect for our clients.
* The ability to work flexibly across shifts including days, evenings and alternate weekends.
The successful candidate should have:
* The ability to follow care plans and instructions.
* Good communication skills.
* Empathy with the needs of the clients.
* IT skills with the ability to maintain accurate records.
* NVQ Level 2 in Direct Care or willingness to achieve this.
36 hours per week
Nursing unit - 3 vacancies
Dementia and residential unit - 3 vacancies
