Locum Consultant Radiologist – Acute & Oncology Imaging

Contract: 12‑month Fixed Term, Full time/Part time (choose), 10 sessions per week
Salary: £113,565 – £150,569 annually (subject to yearly review)

Job Overview
We are seeking a Consultant General Radiologist with a subspecialist interest in Oncology and Acute imaging to join our team. The successful candidate will share the general reporting workload alongside acute and oncology work, complementing the skill mix of the existing consultant team.
Main Responsibilities
* Contribute to the department’s general workload, including duty radiologist rota, request vetting, and inpatient CT and MRI reporting.
* Support the general oncology workload, covering ultrasound service, plain film reporting, x‑ray meetings, and relevant MDTs, including leading the cancer unknown primary MDT.
* Provide cross‑sectional imaging support by undertaking cancer target CT and MRI and routine imaging.
* Participate in tumour site specific cancer MDT meetings as required.
* Teach and train radiology registrars, reporting radiographers, and medical students.
* Attend departmental discrepancy and educational/audit meetings.

Qualifications
* MBBS / MBBCh and FRCR qualification.
* Full GMC registration with licence to practice at time of application.
* Special interest or additional qualifications in other areas of clinical radiology.
* Entry on GMC Specialist Register.
* Formal teaching qualifications.
Experience
* Clinical training and experience equivalent to the UK CCT in general radiology.
* Experience in NHS working.
* Experience supervising undergraduate and postgraduate residents.
* Completion of quality improvement projects (QIP) or clinical audit projects.
* Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
* Experience independently preparing and presenting at MDTs.
* Experience with online patient record systems (e.g., SystmOne, Nerve Centre).
* Experience as educational or clinical supervisor.
* Successful completion of CCT/CESR in a ST equivalent training programme.
* Clinical leadership experience or training.
* Experience with soft tissue biopsies and ascitic drains.
* Radiology fellowship in body imaging, oncology imaging, or acute imaging.
* Formal NHS leadership or management training.
Skills
* Expert clinical opinion on a wide range of radiological investigations.
* Organising and managing radiology lists and priorities, both in and out of hours.
* Motivational, leadership, and organisational skills.
