World Leader in Glucose Monitoring, Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the development and manufacture of electrodes and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The site has been instrumental in the research, development and manufacture of the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System as well as exciting developments in the Libre family including FreeStyle Libre 2, FreeStyle Libre 3 and the Libre Sense system. THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Coordinator to join our Engineering team at our Witney site. This is a pivotal role responsible for managing the ADC Witney Engineering Apprenticeship Programme, supporting apprentices and stakeholders across Engineering and Facilities, and ensuring the effective use of the Apprenticeship Levy.
You’ll be the key contact for apprentices and training providers, championing their development through structured onboarding, mentoring, and progress monitoring. You’ll also support departmental operations, contributing to business process improvements and providing administrative support to senior leaders.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Apprenticeship Programme Management
1. Act as the main point of contact for apprentices, training providers, and internal stakeholders.
2. Promote apprenticeship opportunities and support recruitment and upskilling initiatives.
3. Manage the Apprenticeship Levy, tracking costs, progress, and compliance with the 20% off-the-job training requirement.
4. Design and implement onboarding programmes, including IT and uniform setup.
5. Collaborate with managers to develop structured learning plans and schedule placements.
6. Conduct regular 1:1s and reviews with apprentices, offering pastoral and academic support.
7. Attend provider meetings and deliver weekly progress reports.
8. Organise end-point reviews and contribute to continuous programme improvement.
9. Facilitate an apprenticeship network and support development opportunities such as award nominations.
10. Ensure apprentices follow safety protocols and training plans.
11. Maintain safeguarding compliance, especially for under-18 apprentices.
Operations Engineering Support
12. Provide diary and travel management for senior leaders.
13. Track documentation and purchase orders.
14. Lead or support business process and cost improvement initiatives.
15. Manage small projects and ensure team tasks align with business priorities.
ABOUT YOU
You’ll be a proactive and organised individual with a passion for supporting early careers and driving continuous improvement. You’ll bring:
16. Experience in an administrative role within an apprenticeship or educational setting.
17. Strong understanding of the Apprenticeship Levy.
18. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
19. Minimum Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
20. Proven experience in mentoring and progress monitoring.
Desirable:
21. Level 4 Learning & Skills Mentor qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
