The Training Programme Director in IMT (Greater Manchester) will support the Head of School in the Strategic Development of the School of Medicine. The postholder will be responsible for Stage 1 IMT trainees from Year 1 to Year
3, contribute to the Quality Assurance of medical training for all NHSE ACCS trainees, develop the School’s Recruitment & Retention Strategy, support the School Operational Programme and be a member of the School Board.
Key responsibilities
* Oversee the Specialty’s Regional Training Programme and specialty‑specific matters.
* Address trainee/trainer concerns.
* Recruit to training posts and programmes.
* Manage postgraduate programmes: assessments, progression, rotations, support and remediation.
* Handle OOP management, trainee management, careers support, less‑than‑full‑time training.
* Facilitate inter‑deanery transfer, academic training and other related work‑streams.
* Ensure national standards set by the Royal College and IMT guidelines are met.
* Support workforce transformation and develop multi‑professional links.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experienced NHS Consultant with thorough understanding of IMT training across the region.
* Strong leadership, communication skills and ability to work effectively as a member of a multi‑professional team.
