Job Opportunity
We are looking for a full time accredited Cognitive Behaviour Therapist to join our Kent Mind and Body service. Kent Mind and Body supports young people who are self-harming, at risk of self-harming or struggling with their mental wellbeing. We help people find positive ways to manage difficult thoughts and feelings, working with small groups in secondary schools and in the community. To find out more please visit our website .
This role will involve:
* Clinical delivery working with young people aged 13-18
* Accessing and determining the most suitable interventions, signposting young people to appropriate services where required
* Managing and triaging referrals in line with agreed service protocols
* Safeguarding and protecting children, young people and adults whilst adhering to WithYou procedures and policies
* Providing clinical CBT interventions and holding a consistent case load of approximately 14 young people at any one time
You will hold responsibility for the assessment, formulation, delivery, and evaluation of evidence-based psychological therapies, including CBT, working collaboratively with young people and their families.
The role requires excellent communication skills to engage sensitively with complex cases, share formulations in accessible language and integrate wider issues such as education, work, and employment into the therapeutic process. You will work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues, attend relevant meetings, contribute to timely and accessible service delivery and liaise with health, social care and voluntary sector partners to ensure coordinated care.
This is a full time, permanent position with a starting salary of £41,818 per annum.
Essential Skills
To do this role successfully, you will have:
* CYP Talking Therapies Course (Post Graduate Diploma) or a recorded/registered qualification in one of the following - nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or within a psychological therapy - plus further post-graduate qualification training in CYP CBT
* Accreditation with BABCP (or working towards accreditation within 6 months)
* Demonstrable experience working in mental health and young person services
* Demonstrable experience with routine outcome monitoring
* Demonstrable experience of carrying out risk assessments within scope of practice
* Knowledge/understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care
* Actively use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively
* Advanced communication skills
* Ability to work in a team and build good working relationships
