Manufacturing Process Engineer
Location: Farnborough, Hampshire (100% onsite)
Contract Duration: Until 30th June 2026
Pay Rate:
* £43.13 per hour (Umbrella)
* £32.24 per hour (PAYE)
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Hours: 37 per week
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join an innovative and forward‑thinking aerospace/technology organisation on a long‑term contract basis.
This role plays a key part in transitioning cutting‑edge products from R&D into serial production.
You will join a highly skilled engineering team and be responsible for enabling design intent into a functioning production system—ensuring safety, quality, cost, and delivery performance across manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and qualify production systems using Manufacturing Engineering tools and lean methodologies (e.g., line balancing, factory layout, cellular manufacturing).
* Create and update shop‑floor documentation including routings, job cards, SOIs and quality instructions.
* Support procurement, supply chain activities and Make vs Buy assessments.
* Provide technical problem‑solving support across production and supplier operations.
* Conduct DFM and DTC reviews, feeding into design teams.
* Liaise with tooling, jigs, and ground support equipment teams.
* Drive continuous improvement and production KPIs.
* Support “Right First Time” quality initiatives and health & safety objectives.
* Review, refine, and create process instructions (PIs), identifying operational improvements.
* Set up and configure ERP/PLM systems and routings.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
* Proven experience in Manufacturing Engineering or Process Engineering.
* Strong background in assembly, automotive, aerospace, or similar regulated industries.
* Ability to create and interpret manufacturing documentation.
* ERP/PLM experience (e.g., Dynamics 365, Arena).
Desirable:
* Experience creating/working with BoMs.
* Avionics, AIT or aerospace manufacturing experience.
* Familiarity with regulated environments (e.g., CAA, Part G, Part J).
* Experience creating test plans.
