Sous Chef
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in the daily running of a busy kitchen. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast‑paced catering environment and is passionate about preparing high-quality food while maintaining excellent kitchen standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Head Chef with the day‑to‑day operation of the kitchen
* Assist with planning, preparing, and delivering a variety of meals and catering services
* Prepare food for both small service periods and larger events or functions
* Ensure all food is prepared and presented to a high standard
* Maintain food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards at all times
* Help manage stock levels, ordering, and reduce food waste where possible
* Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service
* Assist with staff supervision and support junior kitchen team members
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience working in a professional kitchen or catering environment
* Strong organisational and time‑management skills
* Ability to work well under pressure during busy service periods
* Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
* Team‑focused with good communication skills
* Flexible and willing to assist across different catering services and events
