Why You’ll Love Working Here

Join the Sustaining NSW Families (SNF) Plus Pilot, a nurse-led home visiting program designed to improve outcomes for vulnerable families and children. You’ll be part of a passionate, multi-disciplinary team working together to strengthen families across the Greater Newcastle area.

This is a rewarding role where your expertise will make a lasting difference in the lives of parents and young children, while you receive strong support, ongoing professional development, and opportunities to extend your practice.

About the Role

As a Child and Family Health Nurse/Midwife, you will work in close partnership with families to help them identify and achieve their goals, always keeping the baby’s wellbeing at the centre. The program involves sustained home visiting from pregnancy until the child’s second birthday, combining health and developmental assessments with ongoing family support.

You’ll also:

* Conduct assessments in line with the Personal Health Record (PHR) schedule, using evidence-based tools.
* Participate in weekly case reviews and consultations with a multi-disciplinary team.
* Provide guidance and support to build parental skills and confidence in a strengths-based model.

What’s in it for You

You’ll be well supported in this role. Orientation is provided at commencement, and you’ll be backed by the Manager for Child and Family Services, Allied Health team, and nursing colleagues.

All nurses in the program are required to complete the Advanced Nurse Practice (ANP) Course, and you’ll be supported every step of the way with training days, case study assessment, and guidance from a dedicated ANP Course Coordinator. You’ll also benefit from:

* Regular supervision and peer support.
* Ongoing professional development opportunities.
* A team environment that values reflective practice and continuous learning.

About You

We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate practitioner who is passionate about supporting vulnerable families. To be successful in this role, you will need:

* Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife.
* Postgraduate qualifications and experience in Child and Family Health Nursing
* Experience working with families using a partnership or strengths-based approach.
* Strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
* The ability to build safe, therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
* A valid NSW driver’s licence and willingness to travel for home visits.

Benefits

* Monthly Allocated Days Off (for full-time employees)
* 4 weeks annual leave (pro-rata for part-time employees)
* Paid parental leave (for eligible employees) - giving you the opportunity for true Work-life balance
* Salary packaging options - up to $11,600 plus novated leasing
* Fitness Passport for health and well-being - discounted gym options for you and your family
* Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for staff and family members
* Opportunity to work and collaborate with a range of non-clinical and clinical professionals
