We are currently recruiting for Site Supervisors to join our team, delivering exceptional customer service and innovative operational solutions across Yorkshire. Responsibilities
* Lead operational teams within a defined catchment, ensuring end-to-end management of all works while delivering an exceptional customer journey.
* Ensure every team member performs their responsibilities.
* Carry out site inspections, coordinate crews from your depot, manage fleet issues and evaluate employee performance.
* Work with the Senior Management Team, Client and Local Authority to agree the extent of works and maintain relationships.
* Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing concerns or requests promptly and professionally.
* Encourage and enable personal development.
* Collaborate with planning and scheduling teams to ensure effective resource allocation, job prioritisation, and workforce coordination.
* Ensure all work complies with the standards, policies and procedures of Lanes Group and its customers.
* Lead and control Civils Operatives and Gangers involved in civil works; optimise resources with scheduling team.
* Manage the teams' fleet/plant and material requirements to ensure efficient and timely completion of the works; follow policies and develop improvements where necessary.
* Produce method statements and procedures; read and interpret specifications, drawings, and engineering documentation; keep records of all work; ensure client systems update in real time.
* Maintain respect of the workforce and develop positive working relationships with other departments and client management.
* Communicate effectively with internal and external clients.
* Provide clear instructions to the workforce and manage daily team activities.
* Read and interpret drawings, including excavation dimensions, pipe and rebar angles, concrete mixtures, and shoring designs.
* Ensure crews are supplied with tools, equipment and materials, prevent wastage, and supervise to optimise manpower and materials; enforce safety and discipline.
* Familiar with HS&E and Quality procedures; enforce them with the workforce.
* Identify, formulate, and implement training programs for the workforce.
* Commit to the highest safety standards during all stages of work to avoid incidents and accidents.
About You
* Possess previous experience of supervision within the Waste Water Industry.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
* This role is about managing people; previous managerial experience is essential.
* Excellent organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks.
* Exceptional customer service skills.
* Excellent time management skills, with ability to deliver tasks to deadlines.
* Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide teams towards achieving targets.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on achieving results.
* Proven experience in a previous Supervisor Role within the Utilities Sector – preferably in the Drainage Industry.
Working Hours & Location
* Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 47.5 hours per week
* Location: Malton and surrounding regional areas
* Salary: £38,000 - £42,000
* Company Car / Car allowance
* 25 days holiday + Bank holidays
