This is an exciting service improvement opportunity for an experienced Registered Dietitian to work alongside the NHS Forth Valley Renal Dietetic Clinical Lead to review the delivery of this service and make redesign recommendations. The postholder would also contribute to the service delivery. The Forth Valley renal service is a satellite unit of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde renal service. The renal unit is based at Forth Valley Royal Hospital and provides haemodialysis for approximately 125-day patients who attend 3 times per week for hospital haemodialysis. The renal dietitians cover 5 nephrologist-led clinics per week which include low clearance/pre-dialysis and transplant and provide cover to a monthly MDT peritoneal dialysis clinic. The Dietetic Renal service is provided over 4 days (Mon-Thurs) and the Dietetic team is made up from 3 part-time staff – 2 Dietitians and 1 Dietetic Assistant. This post offers the opportunity to use service improvement skills whilst working clinically within an established MDT. It requires the post holder to have excellent wide ranging clinical dietetic experience, team working and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated interest, and ideally, experience in service improvement methodology. Experience of renal dietetics and/or long-term condition management would be advantageous. This post is part of the NHS Forth Valley Dietetic Department, offering professional and operational support. The Forth Valley Clinical Dietetic team is a friendly and proactive team providing inpatient and outpatient services within Forth Valley Royal Hospital, 4 Community Hospitals and within Community Services. This post will be part of a team of 44 dietitians providing a wide variety of clinical specialities including critical care, renal, stroke, paediatrics, diabetes, IBS, home enteral feeding along with 5 dietetic assistants and an administrative team.
