If you are looking for a rewarding role in Mental Health Care, WE HAVE GOT THE JOB FOR YOU!

Working in Health Care can be incredibly fulfilling as it allows you to make a positive impact on people at their most vulnerable time.

We seek experienced, caring, and committed Mental Health Transport Assistants with an engaging approach, eager to enhance their skills within the Mental Health sector. Previous experience is beneficial but not required, as full bespoke accredited training will be provided by our experienced trainers.

You should be a passionate, empathetic, and highly motivated individual who thrives working in a close-knit team to deliver exceptional care. We pride ourselves on building positive professional relationships with patients and making a difference at their time of need. If this aligns with your values, we want to hear from you!

This role involves more than driving; it’s about transporting patients safely, respectfully, and empathetically, ensuring smooth transitions between settings. Sometimes, trained techniques may be necessary for patient safety, whether in a facility, vehicle, or other environments. The satisfaction comes from playing an integral part in their crisis moments.

WHO ARE WE?

Founded in 2012, we specialize in secure patient transport and continue to grow. Our core values are Patient First, Respect, Openness, Unity, and Determination. We partner with NHS trusts, private settings, and operate within the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN).

We are proud to be the first and only UK Secure Patient Transport company to achieve high standards of RRN training and care. Celebrating over 10 years in business in November 2023, we have expanded from one Sussex base to cover most of the UK, including some international transfers, and are committed to providing excellent service year-round.

Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion: SCUK is dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture where everyone feels welcomed, respected, and valued. We all share the responsibility to behave inclusively towards colleagues, patients, clients, visitors, and the public, acting as ambassadors for inclusion.

BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE:

* Valid Full UK Manual Driving License with at least 12 months' driving experience
* Excellent communication skills, including IT proficiency
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and deliver genuine care
* Resilience
* Effective teamworking skills
* Excellent attention to detail

Applicants must disclose any past police record, considering the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Past convictions will be reviewed based on circumstances and age.

In return, we offer:

Full Training: Covering Patient Care, Transport, De-Escalation, Physical Intervention, Handcuffing, First Aid, and more. Additional training opportunities are available.

Support and Mentoring: To develop your skills and experience in Mental Health, with opportunities for diplomas and career progression.

Continual Professional Development (CPD): We encourage personal growth through accredited qualifications (NVQ Diplomas) and training in Mental Health topics.

Awards: Employee recognition through peer-nomination Care Awards, gift vouchers, and performance rewards.

Suggestion Scheme: We value team input, rewarding implemented ideas with vouchers.

Role Details:

Full-time 42.1 hours contract, working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, alternating days and nights.

NOTE: Flexibility may be required to accommodate patient care needs, including over-runs or hour adjustments.

Remuneration from 1st May: Starting at £12.88/hour (Day, Night, Weekend). Annual salary approx. £28,215, to be discussed at interview.

* Over-runs paid at £22/hour
* Enhanced pay of £1.20/hour for work at 'place of safety' or bed watch activities
* Additional £1.75/hour for some call-in or overtime shifts
