As a Sister/Charge Nurse, you will provide day-to-day leadership to the nursing team, facilitating the efficient functioning of the multidisciplinary team to assess care needs, develop, implement, and evaluate care programmes.
You will coordinate the running of the Intensive Care Unit, work collaboratively to ensure a good patient journey, and support and develop team members. Support and education in managing acutely unwell patients will be delivered at ward level when working in the Outreach role.

Main duties include:
1. Coordinating shifts while maintaining a calm and professional attitude.
2. Assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating patient care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards and meet patient needs.
3. Providing clinical advice, training, education, and support to patients, relatives, and colleagues.
4. Promoting a safe clinical environment and complying with trust policies, procedures, guidelines, and values.
The unit is a fourteen-bedded ICU admitting Level 2 and 3 patients requiring complex care, aiming for rehabilitation and safe transition home or end-of-life care. The team works collaboratively to meet patients' needs compassionately and to a high standard, supporting recovery or peaceful death.
