As the Safety & Health Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in providing operational support in matters of industrial safety and health.
Your primary focus will be to support the UKAEA's management of safety & health, focusing on supporting major projects. You will work closely with the heads of division and their Teams to drive a proactive culture.
This will suit a safety & health professional who is, or working towards chartered status and willing to challenge, mentor and support senior management in matters of safety & health.
Additional Responsibilities
* Provide safety and health expertise to staff and contractors within the business area to ensure statutory compliance.
* Support the business through monitoring and measuring safety & health performance and culture. recommending actions for improvement.
* With the relevant Head of Division conduct audits and inspections of the business areas.
* To manage the S&H incident reports relevant to Divisions, ensuring appropriate actions are assigned, cause analysis is completed and there is a validation of closure.
* To guide on S&H investigations including undertaking and completing Fact Finds and attending formal inquiries.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
* NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent
* Chartered Member of IOSH or working towards CMIOSH.
* Experience in the safety management of Construction (Design and Management) Projects
* Excellent interpersonal skills to enable effective working relationships to be developed with people in a wide range of roles and levels of responsibility
* Experience in carrying out audits and investigations
