HR Assistant (Graduate / Early Career)
Location: Bicester (Hybrid – 3–4 days per week in office) Salary: £24–26k
The opportunity
Are you curious, organised and ready to kickstart a career in HR? We’re looking for 2 bright, energetic HR Assistants to support our HR Consultants and clients.
Both roles are similar overall but have each will have a slight specialism, 1 will be more focused on supporting due diligence and organisational development projects and the other on more operational HR support.
Either way, you’ll play a key role in making sure day-to-day HR operations run smoothly, from onboarding to employee queries, while also contributing to projects that improve the employee experience. If you like variety, can keep multiple plates spinning, and enjoy building relationships, then this is the perfect opportunity.
You’ll get hands-on experience across the employee lifecycle, develop core HR skills, and learn from experienced professionals — all in a fun, supportive team environment.
What you’ll be doing
· Preparing HR documentation to a high standard, including contracts and employment-related letters
· Support all resourcing activity including the drafting of job specifications, sourcing strategies, advertising, liaising and negotiating with agencies, database management, interview scheduling, psychometric evaluation, delivering candidate feedback and managing the reference process
· Support the Organisational Development (OD) team to create templates and reports using PowerPoint and manage the scheduling of OD projects and associated psychometric profiling.
· Managing day-to-day HR processes such as absence management, probation, and HR system updates
· Maintaining accurate employee records, ensuring compliance with Data Protection regulations
· Championing the HR system
· Supporting monthly payroll by collating information and ensuring timely processing
· Producing reports on key HR metrics: holiday usage, sickness levels, turnover rates
· Reviewing and updating HR policies to ensure legal compliance and reflect organisational changes
· Helping managers and employees with HR queries, interpreting policies where needed
· Supporting HR projects and initiatives to improve the employee experience
What we’re looking for
· A graduate in HR, Business, Psychology, or a related field, or someone with relevant HR/admin experience
· Organised, resilient, and able to juggle multiple priorities calmly while managing tight deadline
· Drive and enthusiasm with the ability to work with minimal supervision
· Curious, proactive, and keen to learn — you take initiative when you don’t know the answer
· Collaborative, with a positive, can-do attitude
· Confident communicating with managers, employees, and colleagues
· Trustworthy and able to handle sensitive information confidentially and with strong attention to detail
· Comfortable using Microsoft applications, particularly Word and Excel, and quick to learn new systems
· Service focused with a passion for delivering high quality and ensuring satisfied customers
· Full driving licence and own transport – happy to travel as required (ad-hoc)
