The role
Our client is a well-established main contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality commercial fit-out, refurbishment, and cut & carve projects across Central London. With a strong pipeline of secured work and long-standing relationships with leading developers, investors, and occupiers, they continue to deliver some of London's most challenging and prestigious workplace environments.
Projects typically range from £5m to £20m in value and include CAT A and CAT B fit-outs, structural alterations, heritage refurbishments, and complex cut & carve schemes.
The Role
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion.
Working closely with the Project Director and site team, you will oversee all site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all site-based construction activities.
- Lead subcontractor management, coordination, and performance.
- Develop and maintain short-term programmes and site logistics plans.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Chair and attend site coordination meetings.
- Monitor progress against programme and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Coordinate interfaces between structural, MEP, and fit-out packages.
- Work closely with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Support the commercial team in identifying and managing change, risk, and opportunities.
- Drive quality assurance processes and snag-free project delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Manager for a main contractor.
- Strong background delivering commercial fit-out, refurbishment, and cut & carve projects.
- Experience managing projects valued between £5m and £20m.
- Excellent knowledge of construction sequencing, logistics, and programme management.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in live and occupied environments.
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Building, or a related discipline is desirable.
