We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a Head of Commercial to join our manufacturing team in Stockton.

Role Purpose

Responsible for the Commercial activities and support for Glacier Energy Manufacturing (GEM) and maintaining a commercial focus. Working with the General Manager, and Business Development Director to achieve the Manufacturing business goals and financial targets.


Accountability

* Implementing commercial governance and tools to support the operational activity in Manufacturing.
* Managing the Approved Vendors List for Customers & Suppliers, working with operations and project teams to ensure this is maintained.
* Bid support with Business Development, providing contractual and estimating support.
* Responsible for reviewing Terms and Conditions, as per the Delegation Of Authority.
* Responsible for the Estimating Processes and team, supporting the Bid Process commercially to delivery.
* Conducting Risk Reviews.
* Responsible for the Procurement Processes and team within Manufacturing, ensuring appropriate governance is in place.
* Identify process improvement opportunities within operations for cost control and commercial governance.
* Mentor and upskill staff in both cost and commercial management.
* Ensure that working practices and processes are fit for purpose and support the business operations.


Experience

* Degree / technical certification / experience in a relevant subject or acceptable relevant experience
* Proven manufacturing experience within the energy industry
* Able to demonstrate working to deadlines
* Leadership skills
* Strong financial and business acumen
* Able to demonstrate sound knowledge of improving efficiency, effectiveness of manpower and commercial processes
* IT literate with specific experience using Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint programs
* Willingness to travel
