We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Liverpool to assist with the appointment of a SEND Caseworker, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £29.42 - £39.88 per hour
Summary:
The SEND Casework Officer will support schools, settings, services, and families in applying the graduated approach to meeting the needs of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Responsibilities
* Support schools, settings, services, and families in applying the graduated approach to meeting SEND needs.
* Coordinate the statutory assessment process for children and young people with SEND.
* Manage the full Education, Health and Care (EHC) planning process from assessment through to placement and review.
* Ensure all statutory timescales are met in relation to EHC plans.
* Review and monitor pupil progress against agreed outcomes.
* Develop strong working relationships with SENCos and Headteachers, offering advice and guidance.
Qualification:
* Relevant qualification in Education, Childrens Services, Social Care, or equivalent experience in a SEND environment.
Essentials:
* Recent experience working within an educational or Childrens Services environment, ideally as a SEND Casework Officer.
* In-depth knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and associated SEND legislation, including SENDIST regulations.
* Experience coordinating statutory assessments and managing EHC plans.
* Experience facilitating review meetings effectively.
* Experience working in partnership with multi-agency teams to achieve positive outcomes.
