Overview
An exciting opportunity for two registered Clinical Scientists to join our friendly and forward‑thinking Radiotherapy Physics team at Castle Hill Hospital. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred radiotherapy services while supporting innovation, research, training and service development.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialist scientific expertise across all areas of radiotherapy physics, including treatment planning, QA, dosimetry and brachytherapy.
* Contribute to service development, research, audit and training, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and national standards.
* Support radiotherapy clinical duties during the department hours (8 am–8 pm) and be flexible to work out of hours when required.
Background of the Department
The department is equipped with 6 Varian linacs (4 Truebeam, 2 Halcyon) all with SGRT (AlignRT), 2 Siemens Somatom go.Open Pro CT scanners, an Xstrahl superficial unit, a Papillon+ contact radiotherapy system, and a new Bravos brachytherapy afterloader which will replace the Flexitron. It is the first Radiotherapy Physics service in the UK to gain UKAS accreditation for the BS70000 MPACE quality standard and maintains ISO9001 certification.
