This role involves assessing a mixed portfolio or risks and underwriting commercial insurance schemes, ensuring profitability while maintaining strong relationships with brokers and clients. Key Responsibilities
* Underwriting & Risk Assessment: Evaluate and underwrite commercial insurance schemes, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines.
* Portfolio Management: Monitor scheme performance, adjusting pricing and coverage as needed to maintain profitability.
* Broker & Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients, providing expert advice and support.
* Market Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes to enhance underwriting strategies.
* Policy Development: Assist in designing and refining insurance schemes to meet evolving business and customer needs.
* Claims & Compliance: Work closely with claims teams to assess risk exposure and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in commercial insurance underwriting, preferably within schemes.
* Strong knowledge of risk assessment, pricing models, and policy structures.
* Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients.
* Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office.
