Role summary: As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll support the design, assurance, and integration of mechanical handling systems such as trolleys and transfer ports for a key UK nuclear facility. What you will be doing: Designing and reviewing mechanical handling systems (e.g. trolleys, transfer ports) Ensuring safety, operability, and compliance through robust engineering input Supporting system integration with adjacent equipment and processes Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders Contributing to design substantiation and assurance documentation Providing technical guidance across the design and review lifecycle Formal qualifications or training: Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related field Chartered or working towards chartership (IMechE or similar) Experience designing mechanical handling systems (not including cranes/hoists) Nuclear, defence, or regulated industry background preferred Familiar with substantiation and assurance processes Strong communication and technical leadership skills Make a Difference with DBD: At DBD, we know you're looking for more than just a job - you aspire to make a real impact in the nuclear industry.
