OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB
* To provide appropriate staff with specialist training and development to fulfil their respective roles and any future training that may become the responsibility of Training Learning and Development. This will be achieved by using a variety of recognised and effective delivery methods.
* Providing training and development to known national guidelines in any area of the Force in addition to any other training that may be required from time to time.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To be responsible for the design and delivery of training materials and documentation.
2. To be responsible for the delivery of IPLDP, PCSO, Special Constable training as required and all other relevant training requirements.
3. To be responsible for the delivery of the upcoming PEQF curriculum. The PEQF framework will commence in September 2020 and all trainers will be involved in the delivery of the new curriculum alongside Bangor University. The curriculum will be taught in the same way as now, however this is a great opportunity to work alongside partners from Higher Education. You do not need to have a degree or study for a degree to be a law trainer once PEQF commences.
4. To contribute positively and constructively to team planning processes.
5. Provide post training advice and guidance as required.
6. To take a lead role when required in areas of projects to be developed.
7. To undertake the assessment of training candidates.
8. To monitor trends and to develop appropriate training and development programmes and materials.
9. To Quality Assure and evaluate training events/programmes.
10. To support and contribute to the development of systems and structures which promote fairness and therefore help in the retention and progression of individual staff.
11. To liaise with relevant internal departments to ensure up to date knowledge of internal and external delivery issues, applying such knowledge to training and development activity.
12. To assist with and invigilate during examinations and assessment centres.
13. To assist with any new Training and Development projects introduced by North Wales Police.
14. Promote and comply with North Wales Policies in equal opportunities and health and safety both in the delivery of services and the treatment of others.
15. Any other duties as directed by a Supervisory Officer commensurate with the post.
MINIMUM CRITERIA FOR THE ROLE
The role requires applicants who can demonstrate (with evidence) skills in the following areas:
1. Training Plan for Unqualified to Qualified role will require studying for and achievement of the below qualifications which will be funded.
2. The ability to travel across the Force area is required. Possession of a full driving licence may therefore assist with this.
3. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft applications.
4. Thorough knowledge of Data Protection, Computer Misuse and other relevant computer policies and legislation.
5. Knowledge of the Initial Police Learning and Development Programme and future PEQF Curriculum.
DESIRABLE
1. For the unqualified role – Possess a PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector), Award in Education and Training, or equivalent Level 3 training qualification, and work towards completion of Level 4 Learning & Development Qualification (TDP)(Police Equivalent).
2. Proven experience of working in a training delivery role including experience of training design & delivery, briefing and presentation/trainer skills.
3. For the qualified role – Possess a Cert. Ed or equivalent qualification or a Level 4 Learning & Development Qualification (TDP)(Police Equivalent).
4. Evidence of training and development over the past 2 years.
