Job Description:
The Change Partners are working with an iconic travel brand seeking a Head of Retail on an initial contract-to-permanent basis. The position will start part-time (1-2 days per week initially, increasing over time).
The Head of Retail will be responsible for developing and executing the overall retail strategy, including Duty Free and Operator tender management, retail operations, and working collaboratively with Operators to ensure successful retail execution.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement retail strategies aligned with company objectives and market trends for duty-free and tender operations.
2. Drive sales and profitability through effective merchandising, promotions, and team motivation.
3. Oversee retail operations, including inventory management, visual merchandising, store maintenance, and compliance with operational standards specific to duty-free and tender environments.
4. Manage outlet implementation with Operators.
5. Ensure exceptional customer service, providing a memorable shopping experience for international travelers.
6. Manage budgets, analyze sales data, control costs, and generate regular commercial reports for senior management.
7. Build and nurture relationships with authorities, concessionaires, brand partners, and stakeholders in the duty-free and tender sectors.
8. Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and traveler demographics to identify opportunities and inform strategy.
9. Participate in developing and overseeing competitive tender bids for retail concessions, demonstrating understanding of commercial and operational terms.
Your Background:
1. At least 5 years of experience in high-volume retail, particularly within duty-free, travel retail, airports, or similar international concession environments.
2. Proven success in increasing sales and profitability across multiple retail stores.
3. Strong knowledge of duty-free operations, retail management, and concession agreements.
4. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to inspire and manage diverse teams.
5. Financial expertise including budget management, forecasting, and P&L responsibility.
