We are looking for a passionate and driven Sous Chef to join our kitchen team at Holiday Inn Manchester City Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced hotel kitchen where creativity, teamwork and quality are at the heart of everything we do. Supporting the Head Chef, you will play a key role in leading the brigade, maintaining high standards, and helping deliver exceptional food for our guests. What you’ll be doing Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen, stepping into their shoes in their absence Leading and motivating the brigade to deliver consistently high-quality dishes Recreating dishes developed by our Head Chef and kitchen team Creating exciting and profitable menus Coaching, mentoring and developing junior chefs within the brigade Monitoring portion control, waste management and labour productivity to maintain strong profit margins Identifying innovative ways to improve financial performance without compromising on quality Ensuring all food preparation meets the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and health & safety regulations What we’re looking for An experienced Sous Chef or a strong Chef de Partie ready to take the next step Excellent cooking skills and the ability to perform in a fast-paced kitchen environment Strong leadership skills with a passion for developing others A solid understanding of produce, ingredients and food cost control Creativity to design specials that are both exciting and commercially successful A flexible, adaptable and hardworking approach A positive attitude and the ability to bring energy and fun to the kitchen team Experience working in a hotel kitchen environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
