Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability Trustees Location: Putney, London Time Commitment: Four Board meetings annually, plus committee participation Term: Four years (renewable once) Remuneration: Voluntary (reasonable expenses reimbursed) Play a Strategic Role in a Leading Neuro-disability Charity The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (RHN) is seeking two highly capable and committed individuals to join its Board of Trustees. This is a significant opportunity to contribute to the governance and strategic oversight of a respected charity that provides specialist care and rehabilitation for people living with complex neurological disabilities. About the RHN Founded in 1854, the RHN is a registered charity and independent hospital with a proud heritage and a forward-looking strategy. We are partway through delivering an ambitious five-year plan and are seeking Trustees who can bring insight, leadership, and professional expertise to support our continued development. The Role of Trustee Trustees are responsible for ensuring the RHN is well-governed, financially sustainable, and compliant with all legal and regulatory obligations. Working closely with the Chair and Executive Team, Trustees help shape the charity’s strategic direction and ensure that its activities remain aligned with its mission and values. Trustees are expected to: Attend four Board meetings annually (in person, in Putney), including an annual away day. Serve on at least one Board committee (Audit & Risk, Finance, or Patient Safety & Quality). Actively engage with the RHN community, including attending key events and meeting patients, families, and staff. Act as ambassadors for the RHN, promoting its work and values externally. We are currently seeking to appoint two Trustees with the following professional backgrounds: An experienced nursing leader – to provide clinical insight and contribute to the oversight of patient safety and quality of care. A qualified and practicing legal professional – to support governance, compliance, and legal risk management across the organisation. While prior Board experience is desirable, it is not essential. Essential attributes: A strong commitment to the RHN’s mission and values. Strategic thinking and sound judgement. Desirable experience: Previous non-executive or trustee experience. Familiarity with the legal duties and responsibilities of charity trusteeship.
