🟦 Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home
📍 Upnor, Medway | 💼 Permanent | 💰 £44,246 - £50,076 per annum
📅 Full-time – 37 hours per week (on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays)
Medway Council is seeking a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to join their Ofsted-rated “Good in all areas” children’s residential home in the beautiful village of Upnor.
Set within an acre of stunning grounds, the home provides a safe, nurturing environment for up to 5 children aged 11–17. You'll be part of a highly skilled and committed team focused on delivering outstanding care and supporting positive outcomes for young people.
🔹 What You’ll Be Doing:
* Supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home.
* Leading and mentoring a dedicated team to deliver high-quality, child-centred care.
* Ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, safeguarding procedures, and quality standards.
* Taking responsibility for rota planning, staff supervision, and development.
* Playing a key role in care planning, risk assessments, and partnership working.
* Deputising for the Registered Manager in their absence.
🔹 What We’re Looking For:
* Minimum NVQ Level 3 / Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* Willingness to work towards Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management.
* At least 3 years’ experience working in residential childcare.
* Proven leadership or supervisory experience.
* A strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and the PACE model.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and decision-making skills.
* A full UK driving licence is essential.
