We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician role to join our team at HMP Lewes, a category B men's prison.

This site has both a pharmacy and dispenser with a really strong, integrated team. Due to growth we are looking for more Technicians. The site offers fantastic opportunities for learning, development and career progression including ACPT training. Great opportunity for overtime, paid at the bank rate. They are always happy to invite anyone for a look around the department and a cup of tea!


Hours

37.5hrs over 4 days, on a 2‑weekly fixed rota. It includes 1 weekend in 2.

Monday‑Thursday 07:30‑17:00 / Friday‑Sunday 08:00‑17:00


Salary

You’ll receive an annual salary up to £34,658 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK. Due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.


What you’ll be doing

* As a GPHC registered pharmacy technician with Practice Plus Group you will become an integral member of the pharmacy team and a valued member of the multidisciplinary clinical healthcare team.
* Provide outstanding, quality‑based, patient‑centred care, seeking out, listening to and acting on patient feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
* Focus on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and that standard operating procedures are followed to a high, orderly standard.
* Deliver non‑judgmental care within the scope of professional standards, including timely administration of medicines and analysing cost‑effective prescribing as defined through our unique Health in Justice medicines policy.
* Inspire excellence by forging strong links within our teams, our partners and stakeholders, providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within and feel proud of. Qualifications required

* NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
* Relevant post‑qualification pharmacy experience
* General GCSE education or equivalent
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
