The Role
This position is ideal for somebody looking for their 2nd role in their Health and Safety career.
Responsibilities
* Actively encourage and promote a positive H&S culture throughout the organisation by working pro-actively with managers and staff across all areas of the business.
* Investigate HSE incidents, identifying root causes and working with stakeholders to achieve timely and effective close-out.
* Create and deliver training sessions including inductions, toolbox talks, and specific HSE courses.
* Analyse HSE performance data to identify trends, opportunities and priorities for improvement.
* Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments, working in collaboration with process owners to risk levels of risk.
* Chair and contribute to HSE meetings and forums, sharing best practices and lessons learned.
* Maintain accurate HSE records, including inspections, incidents and training logs.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in an HSE role within a fast-paced R&D/manufacturing/engineering environment
* Educated to degree level ideally in a STEM subject or relevant topic area
* Good working knowledge of UK health & safety legislation
* Minimum NEBOSH certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
* Experience working with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 and auditing management systems is a distinct advantage.
* Confident communicator able to influence at all levels of the organisation. Comfortable when presenting to a diverse audience.
* Good organisation & planning skills.
* Skilled in auditing, risk assessment and incident investigation.
* Accurate and attentive to detail, with a good standard of written English
