Family Support Practitioner ? Various Locations Across Suffolk (Initially South Suffolk, Stowmarket, Leiston/Saxmundham & Forest Heath Areas) ? Full Time | 37 Hours Per Week ? Hybrid Working Available ? Contract until September 2026 ? Driver with access to a car essential Are you passionate about supporting families and helping children achieve better outcomes? We are recruiting experienced Family Support Practitioners to join a dedicated Children and Young People’s service across Suffolk. This is a rewarding community-based role where you will work directly with families in their homes, building positive relationships and helping them make lasting changes. The position is highly practical and hands-on, supporting families through challenging situations and helping them access the right support at the right time. You will also support supervised family contact sessions, transporting children where required and observing interactions between parents and children to assist ongoing court processes. What You’ll Be Doing Working directly with children, parents and wider family networks in the community Supporting families to improve routines, boundaries, safety and wellbeing Carrying out home visits and delivering targeted practical support Supervising and observing family contact sessions Writing clear case notes and reports Working closely with social workers and partner agencies Helping families engage positively with services and support plans What We’re Looking For At least 3 years’ experience working with families and children Experience supporting vulnerable families in community or home settings Strong communication and relationship-building skills Confidence working independently and managing visits across the county A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential as around 70% of the role involves travelling Pay Rates £19.73 per hour Umbrella Up to £23.37 per hour Umbrella for highly experienced candidates Additional Information Initial induction, shadowing and joint visits will be office-based Hybrid working available once established in the role Immediate interviews available To apply or find out more, please contact: ? john.deane@servicecare.org.uk
