Wakefield Council is seeking a dynamic and strategic Gypsy and Traveller Partnership Manager to lead our work supporting the Gypsy and Traveller community at Heath Common and across the district.
This is a unique opportunity to shape services, drive change, and build trusted relationships that promote health, safety, and wellbeing. You'll be at the heart of a multi-agency effort, coordinating the delivery of our Gypsy and Traveller Plan and influencing future policy, property development, and service design.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading the delivery of the Heath Common site improvement plan
2. Building strong partnerships across enforcement, health, housing, and VCSE sectors
3. Advocating for the community and co-producing sustainable solutions
4. Managing site operations, future planning, and exploring capital investment
5. Supporting and developing the Heath Common Liaison Officer
6. Driving strategic change through evidence-based project management
7. Leading the development of new systems to promote efficiency and good practice
8. We're looking for someone with excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills-someone who can balance strategic vision with hands-on delivery.
You will be based at Wakefield One and the Gypsy and Traveller site.
