Our client is a Council-owned limited company set up to take advantage of commercial opportunities primarily in the Bassetlaw District Council area. Operating independently of the Council itself, the organisation is a successful commercial company with a reputation for delivering high-quality goods and services to local residents and businesses and is building an ambitious team to achieve further development.
There are two excellent opportunities for two suitably qualified Finance Managers to join the Financial Services team following a recent review of the service. The posts will be key members of the finance team supporting both key operational and support services and developing excellent working relationships throughout the council.
The Role
As Finance Manager, Financial Management and Reporting, you will take responsibility for the provision of a comprehensive, high quality accounting service relating to revenue spend and covering the specific areas of management accounting and reporting, corporate accounting, VAT, internal / external audit liaison and accounting for pensions.
You will coordinate and prepare the Council's annual budget for both the General Fund and the Housing Revenue Account and assist with the production of the Medium-Term Financial Plan and the HRA multi-year Business Plan. You will have experience in the coordination and preparation of the Council's final accounts and production of the annual statement of accounts.
Skills & Qualifications
* CCAB qualified (or equivalent)
* Experience of providing high quality financial advice and management information to a wide range of stakeholders
* Knowledge and experience of technical accounting issues affecting local government
* Excellent team working, communication and interpersonal skills
