Our Sexual Health Outreach Team is expanding and we’re looking for compassionate, motivated Outreach Nurses who are passionate about improving access to care for vulnerable and underserved communities. This is an exciting opportunity for sexual health nurses who enjoy autonomy, community-based work and building trusting relationships with people who often face barriers to mainstream services. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, non-judgemental sexual health care and supporting people to make informed choices about their sexual health, contraception and relationships. What you’ll be doing As an Outreach Nurse, you will: Deliver high-quality nurse-led sexual health care in community settings across Doncaster. Undertake asymptomatic screening, venepuncture, HIV testing and provide Emergency Contraception. Provide contraception advice and Implanon insertion, maintaining competencies through HUB sessions. Promote access to PrEP and inclusive sexual health education across diverse communities. Work closely with groups such as sex workers, homeless clients, substance users, MSM, BME communities, women’s centres and asylum seekers. Support targeted outreach initiatives, digital campaigns and community health promotion activities. Use local public health data to shape outreach plans and evaluate their impact. Build strong partnerships with local organisations to enhance service reach and integrated working. Contribute to service development, audit, research and ongoing quality improvement. Support training, induction and development of students, volunteers and junior nursing staff. What we’re looking for You will be: An RGN/RM with current NMC registration. Experienced in sexual health nursing at Band 5 or above, ideally within nurse-led clinics. Knowledgeable in contraception and STI management, with venepuncture and implant insertion skills. Confident working independently in community settings with diverse and vulnerable groups. Skilled in communication, triage, risk assessment and providing inclusive, non-judgemental support. Competent in working under PGDs (and ideally progressing towards non-medical prescribing). Organised, proactive and committed to continual professional development.
