The Integrated Operational Solutions (I0S) Alliance is part of the Anglian Water network and was set up in 2015 to concentrate on water recycling solutions and the clean water base. The maintenance and refurbishment of the key infrastructure is managed by our partners Barhale, Kier and Morrisons Water Services they ensure everything is maintained and improvements made where necessary to ensure the infrastructures longevity and effectiveness.
How we spend our money on activities which directly impact our communities has never been under as much scrutiny as it is now. Our Commercial team are responsible for the Commercial Management of the projects we deliver and to work on projects valued between £2,000- £1,000,000, we are looking for a number driven and enthusiastic Quantity Surveyors to join the team!
What will you be doing as our new Quantity Surveyor?
Supporting delivery teams across the region, your scope of work as a Quantity Surveyor will be highly varied, exposing you to total financial control of all projects from inception through to final account closure.
You’ll gain invaluable experience and exposure to Capital & Operation Expenditure budgets and the balance between the two, understanding Total Expenditure and the ever-increasing role it plays in the utilities environment
Responsibilities
Solution Cost Estimating (with technical support from specialist engineers).
Subcontract & Supply Chain Management
Cost Control
Administration of the Main Contract (NEC)
issuing Early Warnings and Change Requests and keeping accurate records for change control
Final Accounts & Cost Capture Requirements
A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours….
Knowledge and experience in the utilities / civil / mechanical engineering sector preferably in the water industry
Previous experience on high volume / low value works preferred
A degree in Quantity Surveying or HNC / HND in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with specific QS / commercial management experience
Possess excellent Microsoft Excel skills and be able to interrogate and analyse financial reports
Able to create cost plans, financial budgets and predict final out-turn project costs by accurately monitoring project spend verses estimated solution costs
