Our client, based in the West Manchester area, are a precision engineering company who have over 75+ years of industry experience.
They are now looking to appoint a CNC Machinist on a permanent basis. The role will pay between £17-18/hr dependent on experience.
Hours of work are *7am - 3.30pm Monday to Thursday with 1pm finish on a Friday. *There is also some flexibility on start times up until 8am if required.
You will be CNC machining high precision small batch components. Our client also has in-house manufacturing, assembly and service facilities.
Duties:
* Produce components accurately to drawing specifications and on schedule.
* Program, set up, and operate CNC machines efficiently.
* Work with stainless steel and exotic materials, including Hastelloy, Inconel, and 316SS.
* Monitor and inspect components using precision measurement equipment.
* Operate within Lean Manufacturing principles to maximize efficiency.
* Be flexible and cross-trained to operate other machines (Gun drill, Simple Milling, etc.).
* Overtime available when workload demands.
Requirements:
* Time-served or experienced CNC Programmer, Setter or Operator (Turner/Miller).
* Understanding of engineering units, thread sizes, flanges, pipe fittings is a plus.
* Proven experience on CNC machinery, some experience on conventional machinery an advantage.
* Skilled in working with exotic materials, Inconel, Monel etc., especially 316SS.
* Experience in programming & manufacturing small batch or bespoke components is highly desirable.
* Experience with Mazatrol CNC programming and 4-axis milling machines is advantageous but not essential.
